Restaurant Ocean: Culinary experience with a scenic view

Dernière mise à jour : 14 févr. 2022

For the second time in a few months, we had the privilege of dining at the Cape Arundel Inn & Resort’s glass-walled, waterfront, fine dining #restaurantocean, named one of the “Top 100 Scenic Restaurants In America” by our fellow Open Table reviewers. This title is well deserved. But I think it doesn’t says it all. Not only is it a scenic restaurant with a magnificent view of the beautiful coast of #Kennebunkport, but it also offers a #culinaryexperience to die for. Chef Pierre Gignac (a fellow countryman) amazes us with unique and delicious entrees worthy of a #RelaisetChateau.

On the day of our visit, Chef Gignac’s appetizer of the day was a fabulous tuna bolognese pasta with Parmesan (see photo), so good we felt like if we were back in the heart of Italy! Our « coup de cœur » not to be missed on the menu: Beef Root (appetizer); salt roasted red beets with a Chèvre mousse and spiced walnuts Rock crab velouté (appetizer); Peekytoe crab, lemongrass scented bisque, beech mushroom, snow peas and sweet corn purée Cod poached in #EVOO (as en entrée when on menu) Swordfish (entrée) with a Sicilian pistachio crust, smoked Cipollini onions, Provencal vegetable, bell pepper coulis and olive tapenade.

Every course, including desserts like the chocolate fondant, is served with style and refinement. The service is impeccable with a prefect pace allowing us to fully enjoy our meal, the excellent wine list, the ambiance and obviously, the scenic view.

Make sure to reserve early enough to witness sunset. Ocean will definitely become a biannual visit for us when we visit #Maine to open (Spring) and close (Fall) the summer season.Readers can become engaged members of your blog who like to share their thoughts, ideas and discover interesting people.
